Meaning of Life
God give me the answer to my dreams
God give me the answer to my prayers
God give me the answer to my being
- No Prayer for the Dying (Iron Maiden, 1986)
Animals adapted to fill up the holes, we somewhere down the evolution line decided to make holes instead. we have total control over our instints (well, most of us,.....err....few of us...but you get my point), and this enables us to control our lives in a far more self-dependant way.
Since we're in control of our lives , there is no specific destiny this is all supposed to lead to. (maybe we're supposed to lead to the destruction of the universe, but that's too far fetched to think about).
To contradict everything I've said so far, we still reproduce because we're basically evolving that way, leading to more intelligent beings (with no meaning for their existence either)

The youth these days need direction my friend, and one of the paths to righteousness is religion. Hinduism, for instance, is not a 'mystical' religion that consists of tantric magical sadhus who fly on red carpets nor is it about Gods who have 20 pairs of arms as the world is wrongly led to believe(thanks to hollywood), it is actually more a "way of life", the ancient scriptures teach moral and social values through stories which might seem a bit far fetched BUT stories that are based on fantasy are one of the if not "the best" medium to transfer these 'priceless' bits of advice from generation to generation, over thousands of years. Hinduism is THE only religion in the sub-continent and elsewhere that has survived over the ages not having lost its ancient identity and its adherents have not been victims of conversion. why you ask? It is because of what we have been taught to believe in, tradition, family, culture and society play a big part in our lives and it is what strengthens us and makes the bonds tighter.
Humans DO NOT lead purposeless lives, YOU DO NOT lead a purposeless life. The supreme being that is God has a purpose defined for everyone and everything, and it is up to you to live up to it. It is true what you said about us not being immortal, the physical body is definitely mortal, it is more like a travelling machine that our being, our soul makes use of while we travel through time. The soul of a being is ETERNAL! Our deeds in this life will reflect in the next, and the next, this is KARMA, and the cycle goes on...the ultimate goal is to gain MOKSHA or salvation. To become ONE with the supreme being as we are alraedy a part of him anyway.
Think about it, i hope you become a believer...if not, respect what others for millennia's have been believing in....THE RIGHT PATH TO GOD.
The tuning fork and the razor remind me of some wierd physics experiment. And 'quoting lyrics' from metal bands who's POT FILLED HEAD's make crazy loud music to support your cause for atheism? - LAME.
My inspiration is not from loud music. It's infact my own philosophy. what you talk about Hinduism, is also reflected in the Bible and the Quran, religion is nothing BUT a way to control people, and the only way you're free is if you free your thoughts away from these "spiritual thoughts".
God is a concept, and a bad one, and also the most obvious concept invented by people who didnt know much, considering the amount of knowledge they had a that time.
If you just re-build everything from scratch, you'll realize how wrong all our ancestors had been. GOD is for the weak. people who're too scared to realize the truth.
Life isnt a journey, theres no rebirth, no reincarnation. all a bunch of lies to bind you to a charade. you're born a machine and you'll die a machine
